About the service
FoodGPT estimates calories and macros (protein, fat, carbs) from a photo — a dish on a plate, a restaurant menu, or a product's packaging.
Calorie estimates from a photo are approximate. Not intended for medical purposes.
A dish on a plate
Photograph your plate — the model identifies the dish and estimates calories, protein, fat and carbs. If it gets the dish wrong, tap "Wrong dish" and type the name: the re-estimate is free and does not use up a request.
A restaurant menu
The second mode answers the question before the food is on the table. Photograph a menu — the service reads the items and shows approximate calories, protein, fat and carbs for each one, with a colour badge for how heavy the dish is. Items keep the menu's own order, so you can check them against the page line by line.
One photo is one request, however many dishes are on it. The estimate here is rougher than from a plate: it is made from the dish name, without a portion weight or the venue's own recipe.
Barcode and composition
The third mode is packaging. Photograph a barcode or type its digits: the service finds the product and shows its nutrition per 100 g, and — where the composition is known — a list of E-additives marked safe, questionable, or banned in Russia or the EU. If the product is not in the database, it can be added by hand, and it then becomes available to everyone.

Where it works
- In any browser — it is a PWA: add it to the home screen on a phone, or just open it as a regular website on a computer.
- On Android — apps in Google Play and RuStore.
- On Telegram — a bot that answers "how many calories is this" even for someone else's photo in a group chat.
Honest limitations
- A photo estimate is approximate by nature: the same dish can vary several times over in calories depending on the recipe, and the amount of oil or sauce is not visible in a photo.
- Analysis is performed by a third-party AI provider — the photo is sent to it for that purpose. Details are in the privacy policy (in Russian, linked below).
